I analyzed this game and in every position except one New England holds the advantage. (WR) My guesstimated line was NE -7. However, my power ranking lines is New England -13.625. Thus with a difference of 5.625 points this is definitely a play.

I haven't figured out the over under. And as always I am playing small units for the openeing day. However, I may add some units.

Thus:

.25 units to win .2381 on New England -8 (-105)

Good Luck and I'll beback eventually with more on New England and a play on the over/under.

Good Luck

My units in NFL are $100.00. However in week one I usually only play $25.0 or $50.00. But to make it consistent I list smaller plays at 0.25 units or 0.50 units, etc.

Thanks Guys.

I think I am going to take the Patriots every week this season. I think they will cover more than 50% of the time....

thanks for clarifying that... we both play at about the same stakes. I have a 3 team ML parlay in the works with 2 NCAA teams which hit, and New England as the last leg on the moneyline. it pays about $450, so I hope New england can keep their foxborough winning streak alive to 20 games!

I really honestly can't imagine another fluke ass game like miami / new england of last year. That shit cost me multiples of hundreds as I had the NE ML :bang:

Although the Raiders won't be the finest test against the Patriots, I will couirteously disagree with the mob.

I see too many personnel losses, another VERY tough schedule, and a team which is bound to get a taste of the injury bug in 2-3 critical postions.

I will be playing AGAINST the Patriots in every week....By week 10, their playoff hopes will be in question, and they won't be favored at that point in every game.

Mark my words...Orbsmith said it first.

Orb,

I agree with you for the most part (although I think the Pats do make the playoffs). I think the coaching situation will pose problems, but not against oakland. Oakland just doesn't have enough to stay with them. The injury bug hasn't hit NE and I don't think it matters in this game.

Last season NE was the 2nd most injuried team (Titans were #1) and they still won the Super Bowl.

BTW, I have made my preseason Superbowl Prediction:

Colts defeating the Rams.

You get your wish this year: The rams will be in the Superbowl.

I like the way this guy thinks. I've been saying they won't make the playoffs and nobody believes me, but hey everyone has their own opinion, I personally like getting the 8 pts.

I could be wrong (as I have been sooooo many times before), but New England carries the true "team" concept. Unlike other teams, New England will never have a superstar. Brady is big, but he is not as popular as Montana or Aikman, etc. Dillon is obviously a great player but not a super star. None of the recievers are superstars and the same goes on defense. The mere fact that Teddy is not there doesn't matter. This team is a true team and the loss of one player doesn't blow the team. The loss of multiple players doesn't blow this team (they were the 2nd most injured team last season). I think the game is simple: New England is the better team. Oakland made improvements but not enough to beat a team of New England's caliber. If you think of the league in teirs, just off the top of my head you'd half to put NE, Phil and Pit in the top tier. Oakland would be a couple of tiers down. Add to that the westcoast to eastcost phenonmeonomon (love that spelling), Sprinkle in the fact that Oakland has a crappy coach, and an unproven running back and you have the recipe for a nice victory for New England.

Good Luck

Orb - Are you still ticked off about my Pats pulling off one the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history against your Rams (14 point underdogs winning outright)? So you are betting against the Pats all year? And by week 10 do you expect to have a bankroll left? If you bet against the Pats over the L4 years you would be down a small fortune (depending on how much you wager each game). I recognize that the Pats will have a tuff road to the Super Bowl this year (toughest schedule). Every game they play the opposing team will be gunning for them. They lost both their coordinators. They lost Teddy. Yes there is a lot of obstacles in their way. But the Patriots have made a habit of overcoming over whelming circumstances. This may be the year the Pats finally come back down to Earth. But is this any different from what people said last year. No one outside of the Patriots fan base believed the Pats would repeat last season. Then how do the pats respond? They go on and have a 14-2 season. Hold the Colts to a FG, beat the Steelers on the road to end their incredible 15 game winning streak, and then beat the Eagles to win it all. I have one recommendation to all the patriot haters out there...if you think the pats are gonna lose...save your money and don’t bet...you will most likely be thanking me at the end of the season...just my 2 cents.

The Over/Under is a no play for me. Stickin with my original pick and as of right now not adding any units or parlays or teasers.

MikeMac,

I would have to say that yes, I am a little biased, but I am about 4 excuses removed from the Patriots as far as my disgruntled demeanor about the Rams...

..MANY other factors have since replaced the Pats as my excuse for the Rams.

with that said, I still contend that the Pats do not make the playoffs!
