The total opened up at 48 and then went to 49.

I don't know about you guys, but this seems awfully high. I think this is a factor of the public loving the over on prime-time games.

Hell give Randy Moss 2 touchdowns, what the hell else is Oakland going to score? Another Touchdown? Another 2 Field Goals. So Chalk Oakland up for 14 to 21 points. (more like 14)

On the flip side, look at New England. Oakland has shored up its defense and New England is not Indianapolis or Kansas City of last year. Can New England score34 points? or even 28 Points?

I was just shocked when I saw this total. Seems to high to me.

Anyone got any thoughts?

This does seem a bit high. I think you're looking more at a point total of 45 or so. Doesn't seem to be a ton of value, but value none the less.

It seems to me that the average O/U for the Pats the past couple of years has been in the 35.5 pt range. It seems very odd that it opened up so freaking high...

I do believe, however, that with the rule where the DB's can't touch the WR's after 10 yds, there will be higher scoring games.

But a line jump from Mid 30's to 50 is just kind of whack. I'll pass on the total, but if I had to play it, I'd definitely take the U50.

Under looked good to me at first too.... but i can't get out of my head the mental picture of that blasted spread offense New England used last year against Indy.... :bang:

Scary how NE can "morph" it's team to fit their opponent. They can play low scoring, grind it out football... and then the next week they can play in a shoot out. The best play might be to pass, and just enjoy the return of the NFL!
