Two plays so far:
Thursday Aug 18
• Calgary/Montreal OVER 58
This line is very high, but I think they go over the number tonight. Montreal's offence seems to be coming on now that they have a running game with former Patriot Robert Edwards gaining 100 yards two games in a row. That's been opening up the passing attack for Calvillo. Calgary is also missing THREE starters in the secondary, so look for Montreal to air it out. On the other side, Montreal's defence hasn't been the dominant squad we are used to seeing, and has been giving up big yards this year. Calgary has a potent passing attack of their own with former Alouette receiver Copeland returning to face his former team for the first time, and QB Burris coming off 4 consecutive 300 yard passing games. I see a shootout in this one.
Friday Aug 19
• Winnipeg +3 -120 over Ottawa
I see the Bombers taking this one with that re-vamped offence coming off a big game. Glenn is back healthy at QB, Roberts looks to be his old self running the ball, and putting the explosive returner Stokes in at slotback was genius. I'm still not sold on Ottawa. They seem to get out-played and out-gained every game, but manage to pull out the win with opponents dumb turnovers, and lucky breaks. I'll take Winnipeg plus the points at home.
GL!
...also leaning towards Toronto +7 on Saturday, but I'm waiting to confirm that QB Allen is starting for the Argos.
