Chicago Bears - QB Rotation: Rex Grossman (15-20 plays), Chad Hutchinson (will follow), rookie Kyle Orton, Kurt Kittner.

The Bears did some minimal game-planning for the Dolphins on Saturday. The starters are expected to be in for 15 to 20 plays. No. 3 QB Kyle Orton will get some work.

The Bears have a new offensive coordinator in Ron Turner, the former Illinois Head Coach. He is bringing in his version of the West Coast offense. His offense is geared toward receivers as opposed to backs and tight ends in the passing game.

QB Rex Grossman is learning his fifth new offensive scheme over the last five years counting college.

QB Chad Hutchinson has impressed in training camp. Coach Lovie Smith also praised rookie QB Kyle Orton, who has a strong arm and is starting to streamline his mechanics. Orton worked primarily out of the shotgun at Purdue, so the fourth-round pick has had to adjust to taking the snap from center. He still needs to get quicker in his drop and his release.

Secondary thin: CB Jerry Azumah (hip) is out. ron Worrell (hamstring) is ailing. Nate Vasher will start in Azumah's place Monday against the Dolphins, and backups Rashied Davis and Jerrell Pippens are expected to play about a half for an early indicator on who has the lead on the No. 4 corner job.

Punter Brad Maynard (right calf) won't play Monday and could miss the Rams game.

Miami Dolphins - QB Rotation: A.J. Feeley (6 plays), Gus Frerotte (2 Q), Sage Rosenfels (see below).

Dolphins coaches didn't prepare a game plan for the Bears, and starters are expected to see only about a half-a-dozen plays.

Expect a vanilla offense: Said Saban, "Hopefully we can keep the game simple and evaluate the players on their ability to execute what we're asking, not their ability to execute some exotic game plan where there are a lot of opportunities for a lot of errors and mistakes. It's not really trick 'em time."

Coach Nick Saban will use this game to measure a quarterback competition that has A.J. Feeley and Gus Frerotte sharing first-team snaps. Feeley was told Saturday evening he would start against the Bears. Saban said tonight's starter will become the second-team quarterback next week while tonight's backup starts next week. The coach also said Frerotte missing practice Saturday because of a sore arm would not affect his status for this game.

RB depth chart: Ricky Williams was listed as the fourth-string running back behind Lamar Gordon, Sammy Morris and Travis Minor. Rookie Ronnie Brown was not on the depth chart, so it's apparent the position is in flux. RB back Ronnie Brown will not play this game.

Offensive line thin: The Dolphins, in search of help along their battered offensive line, signed free agent Frank Middleton. Backup center Wade Smith fractured his forearm Monday and is out. Joining Smith on the list of injured Dolphins centers was third-stringer Jason Thomas (arthroscopic knee surgery). With both players out, the Dolphins signed center Alonzo Ephraim. Saban also said right guard Rex Hadnot would get plenty of reps at center. Backup guard John St. Clair also has practiced at center.

Scott O'Brien will run Miami's offense, after serving as Vikings' offensive coordinator. Defensively, Miami changed from a 4-3 to a 3-4.
