The Florida Atlantic Owls... this might be the team to lay heavy money AND heavy points against this season. Now look, this team actually played well last year, starting 5-0 and beating a couple of low-end Div. IA teams (Hawaii, North Texas and Middle Tennessee State), but they had a strong group of seniors on the offensive and defensive line that will be missed dearly in their first full Div. 1A schedule. This team goes up against some heavyweights this year and they are really not going to be able to compete. They will get manhandled in the trenches leading to full-scale offensive & defensive physical wear-down. At this point they will be open to a complete breakdown late in the game which will result in 40 and 50 point defeats.
The worst overall matchups are games like Oklahoma St., Louisville, Minnesota, Kansas, and one of my low-key favorites - Troy. Even against the so-so teams on their schedule they could get blown out a few times simply from being beat up and having zero confidence. Even the shitty teams are going to EXPECT to win when they play FAU.
