I hope i am in the right forum, as I was admonished previously, to say this. I have a STRONG feeling that St. Louis will meet Oakland in the World Series. I realize there will be a lot of talk on this, but I deal with a local guy, who does not give odds on these things. I wonder if you fellas who deal with these bookie services have such a line; just curious; But, if it happens, I like Oakland real goooooood.!

40-1 a few days ago now 28-1

just like every year, my A's will make a great run, only to fall short of making the playoffs by one game. I would take 36-1, I would not take 18-1.

our team is very young...of our starting 5, the oldest is Zito, who is 27, sarloos is 26, haren/blanton about 25 and harden is 24....our closer is only 22 and Street looks like he has a great career ahead of him.
our infield is young also, johnson is 26, crosby 25 and chavy is 28 (not really young)
the outfield is older, with the exception of swisher, who is 25

my point is that I am not sure we have the experience to get there. this is the first full year in the bigs for a lot of these players and making a run to the world series takes some experience and even our "experienced" players do not have much play-off experience. It would be sweet, but not that realistic. If we can keep this team together, we might have a chance next year or the year after (although Zito will be pretty old and we will need a new centerfielder), but I have the confidence in the AAA team (sacramento rivercats) to keep producing quality players.

I think the line dropped because they have won like 36 out of 40 games or something like that.

us A's fans really are spoiled. we have quality teams, year after year, and the we only get 18K to come to each game. pathetic. put this same in accross the bay, call them the SF A's, and they would sell out every game and tickets would be impossible to get.
