The National League Division Series between the Dodgers and Mets took a dramatic turn in Game 2 when Chase Utley broke up and double-play in the 7th inning and in the process broke Ruben Tejeda’s leg in the process. Word came down Sunday night that Utley has been suspended by Major League Baseball for Games 3 and 4. Utley and the Dodgers will appeal. The play allowed the Dodgers to tie the game and went on to score three more to beat the Mets 5-2 and even the series thanks to a two-run double by Adrian Gonzalez. The Dodgers couldn’t get anything going on offense up to that point and have struck out 25 times in the first two games. The Mets look to take control of the series back home where they were 49-32 at Citi Field. The Dodgers were only 37-44 away from Dodger Stadium.

Matt Harvey, who has been well rested, will take the hill in Game 3. He was limited in September in an effort to keep his workload lower following Tommy John surgery but is not expected to be on a strict pitch limit on Monday. He has totaled only 17.2 innings since September 8th allowing just two earned runs and striking out 24. He faced the Dodgers twice this year and gave up 13 hits and 5 runs in 12 innings of work. He is 8-3 with a 2.23 ERA at home this year. The Dodgers will counter with Brett Anderson who pitched a career high 180 innings this year in 31 starts. He showed signs of wear down the stretch allowing 11 runs in two starts in late September, but pitched well in a win over the Giants ten days ago. He has never faced the Mets, but has pitched 6.2 innings in the postseason with Oakland, surrendering one run.

The Dodgers got momentum back on their side with the wild 7th inning in Game 2, but I think Harvey quiets their bats once again. The Mets should be able to get to Anderson and take back control of the series.

Pick: Mets -1.5 +125
