The Phoenix Suns, having lost home-court advantage in their Western Conference semi-final series with the Los Angeles Clippers by losing Game 2 at home, have regained it after splitting two games in L.A. over the weekend. Phoenix now looks to re-take the lead in this series when the two teams collide Tuesday night in Arizona in Game 5.
These two teams split four games during the regular season, each winning once on the other’s home court.
Phoenix won Game 1 of this series at home, but L.A. won Game 2. The Suns then won Game 3 in L.A., but the Clippers won Game 4.
L.A. outrebounded the Suns by an average of 15 per game in their four regular-season meetings. Then, in this series, the Clippers outboarded Phoenix by 31 in their Game 2 win and by 18 in their Game 4 win. In a Game 1 Phoenix victory, L.A. outrebounded the Suns by just three, and in a Game 3 Phoenix win, the Suns won the battle on the boards by one.
The Clippers outboarded opponents by more than 3 per game during the regular season, 5th-best in the league. The Suns, on the other hand, got outrebounded by more than 4 per game, 3rd-worst in the league.
The over/under went 2-1-1 during the regular-season series, and is 3-1 in this playoff series.
Phoenix is 35-12 straight up at home this season, 24-22 against the spread.
Los Angeles is 22-23 straight up on the road this season, 24-20 vs. the number.
Phoenix led the league with its 48% field goal shooting, 40% 3-point shooting and 81% free-throw shooting.
The Clippers limited foes to just 43% field-goal shooting this season, 4th-best in the league.
After letting Suns guard Steve Nash run wild in Game 1 of this series, the Clippers have done a much better job on the league MVP of late. In the last two games in L.A., Nash shot 6-of-20 from the floor, and he hasn’t made a 3-pointer since Game 1.
L.A. center Chris Kaman sat out Game 4 of this series with ashoulder injury, but is listed as probable for Tuesday’s Game5.

The Ultimatecapper Pick: Tough series. We think the injury to Kaman was a good thing as the Clips don't really need a center in this game and it may actually hurt them to have him play in this fast paced "small ball" type of tempo. We think the Clippers win the game outright but the Suns cover.
