The Golden State Warriors edged the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1 while not playing their best game. The game was tied at halftime and after three quarters, before Golden State took control and won 121-109, but failed to cover the 15-point spread. Game 2 is Wednesday at Oracle Arena on TNT. Coverage begins at 10:30 PM ET.

Portland (41-41 SU, 40-42 ATS) just made it into the postseason as the eighth-seed and their -0.5 point differential shows they were lucky to reach .500. Portland, however, has one of the better offenses in the league, and they rode the hot hands of guards CJ McCollum (41 points) and Damian Lillard (34 points) in Game 1.

Unfortunately for the Blazers, they don’t have much depth without center Jusuf Nurkic, who’s still recovering from a broken leg and is questionable for Game 2. The Warriors (67-15 SU, 40-39-3 ATS), on the other hand, were comfortable going 10-deep into their lineup during Sunday’s Game 1. Five different Warriors scored in double figures, and all ten men finished in plus territory. Until Nurkic returns, this advantage should become even more pronounced as the series rolls on. The Warriors have now won nine straight times as the host in this series and 15 of the last 17 matchups overall. Shooting guard Klay Thompson is 7-of-29 from 3-point range in his last four games.

This series should end in four games and the Warriors got off to a slow start in Game 1 before pulling away. I expect a more spirited effort from start to finish and I believe the Warriors roll in this one.

Pick: Warriors -14
