Boston Red Sox (21-14, tied for first place in the American League East) –160, o/u 9 ½ at Baltimore Orioles (18-20, 4th in AL East), 6 p.m. Eastern

Boston is 6-2 over its last eight games, but hasn’t played since Friday: they got rained out at home Saturday and Sunday … Baltimore has won three games in a row … The Red Sox are 10-8 on the road this season, while the Orioles are 13-10 at home … Boston has won the last 11 meetings between these two teams … Neither scheduled starting pitcher has been very good lately; Beckett, despite a 4-1 record, has allowed 20 ER in his last 23 IP … Lopez is 1-5 and has given up 13 ER in his last 16 1/3 IP … Beckett has never started vs. Baltimore … Lopez has allowed 8 ER and 23 H+W in 11 1/3 IP vs. Boston this season … The Sox own a .366 team OBP, 3rd-best in AL, and average 5.3 RPG … The O’s own a .334 team OBP, 7th in AL, and also average 5.3 RPG … The o/u is 23-13 in Baltimore games this year … The O’s just scored 25 runs in a three-game sweep of KC over the weekend … The Boston bullpen has given up 4 ER and 16 H+W over its last 13 IP … The Baltimore bullpen has allowed 7 ER and 29 H+W in its last 18 IP.

Kansas City (10-25, last in AL Central) +180, o/u 10 at Cleveland (17-21, 4th in AL Central), 6 p.m. Eastern

KC has lost three games in a row, and is 2-17 on the road this season … Cleveland has lost six games in a row and is 8-9 at home … KC is 5-1 vs. Cleveland this year … The o/u is 23-13 in Indians games this season … Affeldt owns a 5.33 ERA, but has given up just 3 ER in his last 18 IP … He did, however, last only 1 2/3 innings vs. the Indians last Tuesday, and in two starts vs. the Tribe this year has given up 3 ER in 7 IP … Off-season acquisition Byrd has been terrible, with a 6.52 ERA, although its come down a bit recently (8 ER last 19 IP) … But he’s allowed 10 ER in 10 IP vs. the Royals this year … KC owns a paltry .308 team OBP, 3rd-worst in AL, and averages just 3.8 RPG … Cleveland owns a .368 team OBP, 2nd-best in the league, and averages 5.9 RPG … The Royals bullpen has stunk royally recently, allowing 20 ER and 43 H+W in its last 19 2/3 IP … The Indians pen has given up 6 ER and 15 H+W in its last 11 1/3 IP.

Texas (19-17, 1st in AL West) +150, o/u 9 ½ at Yankees (21-14, tied for 1st in AL East), 6 p.m. Eastern

Texas is 10-5 on the road this year, but just 2-5 over its last seven games … New York is 12-6 at Yankee Stadium this season, but just 3-3 over its last six games … The Yanks swept three games from the Rangers two weekends ago, and have won 10 of the last 11 meetings between these two teams … Millwood had four decent starts in a row, but then gave up 9 ER in just 1 1/3 innings last Tuesday vs. Minnesota … He gave up 8 ER in 14 IP in two starts vs. the Yankees last year while pitching for Cleveland … Mussina has been great this year, sporting a 6-1 record and a 2.56 ERA … In his last 20 1/3 IP vs. Texas (covering this year and last), he’s allowed just 5 ER … The Rangers own a .350 team OBP, 6th-best in AL, and average 5.3 RPG … The Yanks own the best team OBP in the league, .374, but that figure was up near .390 just about 10 days ago … New York, now without both Sheffield and Matsui, has scored just 10 runs in its last four games … The Texas bullpen has allowed 9 ER and 37 H+W in its last 23 1/3 IP … The Yankee pen has given up 5 ER and 24 H+W in its last 14 1/3 innings of work … Weather forecasts call for rain and wind Monday in New York.
