It's time again for College Football to get underway.Here is a preview of this years' ACC Atlantic Division.
The Boston College Eagles arehoping to soar this year. With the conference's best QB, a solidrunning game, along with the entire defensive line returning itcould pan out to be a great year for Boston.
Last year's conference champs, Wake ForestDemon Deacons, aren't going to have a repeat of lastyear. Even with the return of a sophomore QB and a quality runningback.The Deacons are going to have to pick up their passing game; theyonly averaged 21 points per game, mostly off other teams' mistakes.Most of these points were due to the outstanding defense lastyear. Unfortunately their defense won't be the same this year.
The Florida State Seminoles mainstrength this year will be their defense again. Their entire defensiveline returns with some new starters on the secondary line. They'verevamped their offensive strategy and will focus more on runningthan spread style play.
The Maryland Terrapins will return12 starters this year but will be breaking in a new QB, whichcould be their downfall. Expect the Terrapins to use their runningbacksa lot more. The key to their success will be to force fumblesand get interceptions to give their offense a chance.
The Clemson Tigers have onlyone starter returning to their offense this year along with anew QB. This doesn't necessarily mean that they won't have offense;they'll just have to focus on their running game more. The Tigershave two runningbacks that can compete with any other top runningbacksin the league. As for a new offensive line this year it's lookinglike the new QB is in for a world of hurt.
The North Carolina Wolfpack hasa new coach that will distill some discipline into a strugglingteam. The biggest focus for the team will be at the runningbackposition. As for offense, there won't be a lot of long ball passesbut rather more bootleg and rollouts
